Oh No! and Oh Yes!

A few weeks ago, the children of Upendo came to their weekend center to find a rude surprise-- someone had cut the lock and stolen all of the furnishings (chairs, table, mattress). This generated a discussion between the Upendo leaders and friends in the U.S. How to make the place more secure? Would a different location be better? How to replace the furnishings? The family of founder Caleb (Osore) loaned other furnishings as a temporary solution. And through friends at Alum Spring Baptist Church in Virginia, a generous donation was made towards replacement costs. Security measures and replacements are currently being researched. Thanks to the kindness of friends both local and far away, the work of the Village of Hope and Love can go on uninterrupted.
